Village of Hope
Over the past 3 years, African Hearts has implemented the livelihoods project in Kyerima, Mityana district with an integration of a 50-acre farm with the larger Kyerima community livelihood activities. The AFRIHSCO farm is the convening point for the community-based farmers that provides sources of knowledge of up-to-date farming practices through the demonstration farm, promising farmer business hub mainly for coffee and as a source of reliable farming seedlings as well as the distribution of Heifer Calves to select families in need as a way of enabling poverty reduction within households.
The farm is also an income generating project for the African hearts community Organisation.

The Village of Hope Farmland currently has 6 acres of coffee and banana intercropped plantation and a dairy farm. The plantation is heavily dependent on the organic manure from cow dung and other wastes from the dairy farm. This has seen a promising dairy farm currently with over 8 Friesian cows. Milk from the cows is sold to the surrounding community and is promising to be a potential source of income for the Village of Hope community.
African Hearts envisions setting up an education Centre within the Village of Hope to disciple vulnerable girls, women and communities on better ways of processing coffee for improved livelihood and eradication of poverty as a way of reducing on the number of the number of girls and boys running to the streets looking for survival.
