Humming Bird House for Girls:
The Transit Centre for Girls fondly referred to as the “Hummingbird House” was established in 2019 in Wakiso district, proximate to Kampala City. The Centre receives girls aged 12 to 17 rescued mainly from child prostitution while others are referred to the Organisation by the Probation Offices and the Uganda Police in and around Kampala and Wakiso districts. The Centre is overseen by three Social Workers and has since rescued and rehabilitated 148 street girls most of them formerly engaged in child prostitution sex trafficking.
After the seed investment provided by Paula Carol, Engage Hope Ministries has been a key support partner in ensuring the Centre achieves its main objective of rehabilitating, reintegrating and reconciling rescued girls with their families, ensuring that their quality of life is improved thereafter.

The Transit Centre for Boys:
Since its establishment in 2008, the Centre has housed a total of 1008 Boys, with 938 resettled with their families. At the Centre, the children engage various activities including catch up learning for the school drop outs, counselling and other psychosocial support, medical care, recreation activities and age-appropriate income generating projects to help generate some income to support the homes.
The Centre has 6 staff that include a teacher, social workers and guards.
