At the core of the reintegration program is the belief that God ordained families and that children thrive best within them. Ugandan policy guidelines emphasize that families and communities should serve as the first line of response to issues affecting children.
African Hearts has a dedicated team of social workers who work closely with children with the goal of reintegrating them back into society through biological relatives, foster care, or local adoption.
Reintegration is carried out as the final step after both the children and the receiving families have been adequately prepared. This process often involves addressing the circumstances and challenges that led the child to life on the streets. Throughout the entire process, every effort is made in the best interest of the child.
